How does view through conversion work in this case?

Say someone watched a YouTube in-stream ad but less than 30 seconds, later this person searched the company through Google and made the purchase. Will this register as a view through conversion in Video campaign AND a conversion in search campaign, in other words two conversions in total?

Hi Richard,

 

Thanks for posting to the Community! This will depend on how you are tracking attributions in your AdWords account (you can read more about your options here). Through last-click attribution, this conversion would be attributed to a Search ad. However, if the user clicked on your organic search results (and not an ad), then this would be counted as a view-through conversion for the Video campaign. 

 

View-through conversions automatically exclude conversions from people who have also clicked your Search or other Display ads. More on that here.
