Dynamic Search Ads data in Analytics. Most of Dynamic Search data is not visible in Analytics (all text and rich media ads I coud measure, auto tagging works).

Under the Adwrords tab in Analytics

Mostly there are no Visits data, however I could see Adwords click data, but at some compaign (there are some visits data but only a fraction of the number of clicks (e.g. number of clicks around 600, number of visits around 120).

In Adwords I could see the actual destinatio pages (auto target tab -->see search terms).

Many email to helpdesk, but their only idea was using manual tagging by url builder.

I use dínamic ads in two of my clients' account, both of them are affected.

Dynamic ad urls contain the default {unescapedlpurl} only

and for testing purposes {unescapedlpurl}?manually tagged 

neither of them are working.

Any idea, experience?

Hello.

 

Is it possible that your URLs are not working when placing your custom tags (i.e. they break the website)?

 

{unescapedlpurl} can be the URL of any page on your website. Therefore for a page such as http://example.com/page.html, that is the {unescapedlpurl}.

 

For {unescapedlpurl}?tag1=value1&tag2=value2, the landing page URL will be http://example.com/page.html?gclid=1234...&tag1=value1&tag2=value2 (because there's auto-tagging).

 

What I would do in your situation is to generate a list of all your URLs, append ?gclid=test&tag1=value1&tag2=value2 to them (?gclid=test plus all your tagging variables) and use a link checker to see they all work. If some don't, it means that clicks that land on those pages break the website and Analytics does not get a chance to fire its script.

Found the solution. 

It was a redirection problem. Somehow adwords used URLs were redirected by the server - so while I set up the links manually, I could use only links with no redirections (I saw links, that were already redirected) - and the server just cut all the tags off. :-(

 

It was really hard to find this as in the "normal" operations it just does not happen (as I do not see URL to be redirected).
