Dynamic Remarketing Tag for AJAX shopping cart

Hi! I'm not sure I understand how to add Google Adwords Dynamic Remarketing tag for shopping cart when my site has AJAX shopping cart.

Basically all my customers can add and remove products from shopping cart and view its contents from any page of site and never go to separate cart page.

I checked this page, but unfortunately it didn't help much, I see that I need to set different 'ecomm_pagetype' for each page of site, so triggering code for cart on any page of site when customer views or updates cart probably isn't correct way to do it.

Hi Lina,

Thanks for posting to the Community. If you are setting up your dynamic remarketing tag through Google Tag Manager, then this guide should help (navigate to the section "If you have not implemented the data layer to pass dynamic data to Tag Manager..." > Asynchronous events).

If you're using a different set-up, please let me know and I'll do my best to help!

Hi Cassie,

Thanks for your help. In my case all configuration of tags was done separately and I'm just provided with scripts that I need to paste on the pages of the site. The scripts have this structure:

var google_tag_params = {
ecomm_pagetype: "REPLACE_WITH_STRING_VALUE",

/* */
var google_conversion_id = xxxxxxxx;
var google_custom_params = window.google_tag_params;
var google_remarketing_only = true;
/* */

In the example you've sent I see that I need to use dataLayer.push method, but there's nothing like this in the scripts I have. Could you please give some more details on how I should handle this with this type of setup?

Thank you!
