Discrepancies between AdWords and Analytics Data

My Analytics showing less paid visitors as compare to Adwords. I have tried checking this for a specific Date range, it shows :-

Analytics - 1390 visitors
Adwords - 3569 visitors

I can understand a small difference because of various issues like Invalid clicks, clicks vs visits etc. But this difference is almost double, what can be reasons for this...?

Thanks
Puneet

Do you have specific profile settings? Like a profile filter. That can make huge differences and filter out visitors.

Hi Puneet,

AdWords reports clicks, Analytics reports visitors. The number indicate visitors, on average, clicked on your ad 2.5 times within the reporting date range. For some industries, particularly in very competitive markets, this is not very unusual. It could indicate something positive, as users return after comparison shopping other web sites.

Or it could indicate a large volume of invalid clicks. Check on your billing tab to see the volume of invalid clicks for which you have been credited.

Best of Luck!

Hi petebardo,

I can understand the difference between clicks and visits, also I had a look at Invalid clicks too, they are only 181. If I add up invalid clicks into Analytics visits, it will still make a huge difference in data.

Thanks
