Destination mismatch question

We're using a tracking template for an ad and our agency told us it was disapproved because of 'Destination mismatch'.

The tracking template is correctly redirecting to the final page but is adding an additional parameter in the query string.

For example, in the ad:

Final Url: https://example.com/request-demo

Tracking Template: http://info.example.com/r/oypvu?kw={keyword}&d={device}

When you click through on the tracking template the URL would look like:

https://example.com/request-demo/?rid=myv9x2ba&kw=test&d=c

The only differences here are:

1. The redirect adds a forward slash at the end of the URL

2. The redirect adds a 'rid' querystring parameter

I suspect the issue may be the forward slash but would like to know if the querystring parameter could be the problem.

Thanks!

Rob

Hi @Rob H,

I suspect in your case, the ads were disapproved because of:

Failing to use a subdomain to clearly identify a site from all other sites hosted on that domain or from the parent domain

What display URL did you put in your ads?

Well, as it turns out I asked the agency to let me look at how they set up the ads. And, they had put the tracking template URL as the destination URL. Fixed that and it got approved. Thanks for the follow up.
