Custom Column Conversion

I am building custom columns to my Adwords campaigns.

I am trying to calculate Cost / Conversions (appointments) =Cost of appointments


somehow it is not working

shows empty


Conversion name is Consult Appointments it's a number

The reason that this is not working is because AdWords will not associate cost, clicks or impressions with unique Conversion names/categories/sources. To understand this better go into AdWords and segment the campaign view by a conversion type. You will see that the metrics listed above are blank. This is because there are a large amount of clicks that do not convert so they can't be attributed to on conversion type. This logic is carried over into custom metrics.


It would be nice if you could divide total cost by a particular type of conversion, however it's not currently possible with custom columns. One possible solution would be to change the settings on your conversion types that are not appointments to NOT be included in conversions. This would allow you to utilize the pre-built calculated conversion metric columns.
