Conversion tracking

I have website and on it I have booking form. When you complete booking form fields you click proceed and go to third-party site that makes transaction and then you are redirected to /success page. I have one account where I have set Google adwords campaign and another where I want to track conversions. I made conversion and set it with no value, just to record it. I put code of conversion in top of my /booking page.

But I do not see any conversions.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Ivan P,

AdWords attributes conversions to ads and keywords. This link would be broken when the code is in one account and campaigns in the other. I'd suggest generating the conversion tracking code from the account that has campaigns and pasting it on the thank you page.

PS: You should be able to see conversions in the account which has the code.

Feel free to write back!

Thank you for your answer.

Everything works now.
Now I will try to trigger conversion on submit button click.

Thank you once again.

Regards

Ivan

Can you please help me one more time Smiley Happy
Now I put this code in my booking form page

<script type="text/javascript">
/* */
goog_snippet_vars = function() {
var w = window;
w.google_conversion_id = 954875048;
w.google_conversion_label = "ggwyCI6ep14QqPmoxwM";
w.google_remarketing_only = false;
}
// DO NOT CHANGE THE CODE BELOW.
goog_report_conversion = function(url) {
goog_snippet_vars();
window.google_conversion_format = "3";
window.google_is_call = true;
var opt = new Object();
opt.onload_callback = function() {
if (typeof(url) != 'undefined') {
window.location = url;
}
}
var conv_handler = window['google_trackConversion'];
if (typeof(conv_handler) == 'function') {
conv_handler(opt);
}
}
/* */
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="//www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion_async.js">
</script>

and I this in my input type submit field onClick='goog_report_conversion'

but my conversions are not working.

Did I make mistake somewhere?

Sure Ivan!

Could you provide the website URL so I can verify a few things if that's fine?

Yes, thank you

http://www.croatiashuttle.com/booking/

So when you enter required values and click on proceed to booking I would like to record conversion so if you do not enter informations on third-party gateway site my conversion is still recorded.

Ivan,

I've checked the page and noticed the conversion tracking tag fire on page load, instead of button click.

I was thinking of a possible alternative to this which I had tried long back for a client with a similar objective. How about introducing a page that says "You're being redirected to the payment page" or something similar, which would lead to the payment details page in a couple of seconds? This way a code could be placed on that page to track 'button click' conversions.

Another alternative would be to set up a GA Goal for the button click and then import it to AdWords as conversions.

Thoughts?

You may also find that if you implement Google Tag Manager then adding a click listener for the button is a simpler solution. GTM will do a lot of the work for you in terms of the set up.

Thank you for your help. I made 2 buttons, one for cash and one for card payments and they all lead on same page so conversions are recording. Thank you once again.

Thank you for your answer. Yes I am planning to implement GTM. I saw that is much easier with it.

Thanks
