Hello all,

I have been searching, implementing various technique to work converstion tracking on  my website.

Here is what I have did till now.

I have created container in Google tag manager.

Created 3 tags in container:

1 Form Submit Listener
# Firing rules:

All page >> {{url}} {{contains}} /welcome/venue_display/

Form Submit >> {{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit

Form Submit Listener.png

2 Adword conversion tracking
# Firing rules:

All Page >> {{url}} {{contains}} /welcome/venue_display/
Form Submit >> {{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit

adwords conversion tracking.png

3 Google universal analytics
# Firing rules:

All Page >> {{url}} {{contains}} /welcome/venue_display/

Google Universal Analytics.png

Created new version and published it.
Installed code on website given in tag manger.

Created goals as a event in my Google analytitcs account

Event conditions:

Category Equals to Forms
Action Equals to Submit
Label Equals to Lead Gen

goals as event.png

But Hey first time conversion tracking working after I implemented this.

OK, but you still need the {{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit on your Event and Conversion tags, otherwise they'll fire every time someone is on your venue_display page. So create a new rule for them.

What you should have is:

1) Form Submit Listener which fires on the venue_display page (i.e. only rule is {{url}} contains /welcome/venue_display/)
2) Event and Conversion tags which fire when {{url}} contains /welcome/venue_display/ AND {{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit.

This way you should get exactly what you're trying to achieve.

HI
Have you checked this with debug mode? If yes what are results?

Tag

Adwords conversion tracking - Not Fired
Google Universal Analytics -Not Fired
Form Submit Listener -Not Fired

After I click on post

Tag
Form Submit Listener - Fired on Tag Manager Load
Google Universal Analytics - Fired on Tag Manager Load
Adwords conversion tracking - Fired on Tag Manager Load

I also submit the inquiry form in debug mod but the status remain same as above.

Right now:

1) Your Form Submit Listener should only fire when the {{url}} contains /welcome/venue_display/. Right now you have the {{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit rule there, which is redundant. You can't have a submit listener fire when {{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit, because the listener is the one which creates that {{event}}.

2) Your Universal Analytics EVENT tag fires when {{url}} contains /welcome/venue_display/, are you SURE you want to have an event fire when a page is X and not, actually, when a form is submitted? Looking at the event fields, I'm guessing no. You'll need to add the following conditions to the SINGLE rule on your event tag:

{{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit
{{url}} contains /welcome/venue_display/

This will fire the event tag only when the URL is /venue_display/ AND when a form is submitted.

Remember a rule can have conditions (all of them must be matched for the tag to fire) or you can have multiple rules on a tag (just one of the rules need to be matched). Right now you're using multiple rules per tag on the AdWords tag and the Form Submit Listener, and they're screwing things up. You'll have to use conditions and not rules to get this working.

3) I'm assuming you also want to fire your AdWords conversion tag with the same conditions as your event tag? In that case, use the same ONE rule as in (2):

{{évent}} equals gtm.formSubmit
{{url}} contains /welcome/venue_display/

I suggest you take a look at http://www.simoahava.com/analytics/google-tag-manager-playing-rules/, where I go over what rules and conditions are in GTM.

Thank you so much for your response.
So as per your instruction I did some changes.

in all three tags there is one firing rule and 2 conditions
{{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit
{{url}} contains /welcome/venue_display/

Also, when someone fill the inquiry form and click send button after instead of conversion page it shows massage as "inquiry sent successfully" So I was thinking can I track this massage and add as event in analytics?

Hi,

As instructed, remove {{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit from your Form Submit Listener. It won't fire if that is the rule condition.

Right now you have

1) A Form Submit Listener which fires when {{url}} is /welcome/venue_display/
2) An Event Tag which fires when a form is submitted on /welcome/venue_display/
3) A conversion tag which fires when a form is submitted on /welcome/venue_display/

Is this correct? Is /welcome/venue_display/ the page where the form is?

Yes I have removed {{event}} equals gtm.formSubmit from Form Submit Listener. Same rule automatically removed from all rest of two tags.

What I have now is:

1) A Form Submit Listener which fires when {{url}} is /welcome/venue_display/
2) An Event Tag which fires when a form is submitted on /welcome/venue_display/
3) A conversion tag which fires when a form is submitted on /welcome/venue_display/

Is /welcome/venue_display/ the page where the form is? Yes on whole website this is where form is. ie http://goo.gl/R3lWG0 these are venue pages where form is.

Hello Simo,

Conversion tracking is working as I can see in account column converted clicks data.
But I have just one query.
Whenever someone send inquiry from website we get email of it.
So today's status I can see in adwords is total 5 converted clicks but I have revived only 1 mail of inquiry.

SO how is this data not same?
