Conversion code isn't working exactly

Hi,

I have a question about conversion tracking.

The problem is that my conversion code is not working exactly,
even if in the following situations.

- Conversion code has added to the right place on my Thank You Page
- Customers have visited my site by clicking ads.
- Cookie and Java Script is enabled.

Does anybody know reasons why this happens or solutions with this?

In addition, there are some things in common in this problem :

- Thank You Page is a dynamic page.
- Domain name is different between destination URL and Thank You Page.

Thanks,

Maho

Hi Maho,

Did you try a test conversion on your own by clicking your own ad and completing the conversion process?

If not, then I would suggest you to do that and then wait for a maximum of 24 hrs to see if that conversion reports in Adwords account or not.

There are some good additional ways mentioned in this reference for troubleshooting with conversion tracking code:

You said domain name is different, so I am assuming that when the user is directed to your landing page, cross domain interaction happens and the final thanks page is on another domain. Let us know if that isn't the case.

For cross domain tracking Google Analytics can also give you more insights:

Hope that helps!

Hi Maho,

If your conversion code has been properly placed on the thank you page, it doesn't matter what domain the conversion takes place on, it would still be recorded.

You say the page is dynamic. Do you use a post back or Ajax to return the thank you page? If so, you need to take a slightly different approach to recording conversions. There are quite a few posts here about tracking conversions when using Ajax. If this is your case and you can not find one of those posts, let me know and I'll post it again.

Best of Luck!
