Conversion Tracking & PayPal Payments Standard[ Edited ]

I am using PayPal Payments Standard as my payment gateway and you can set up an auto return that will send the purchaser back to the website to a page that you specify after purchase.
Sounds perfect right? The problem is that this only happens automatically if the purchaser logs into their PayPal account. If they don't and just use the credit card payment option available to them without logging on to their PayPal account, they are only presented with a link to go pack to the original website. If they don't click the link, then they don't go back to your website and the tracking code won't run.
Has anyone successfully overcome this obstacle by using a different method?

Welcome to the AdWords Community!
Do you also have Google Analytics setup? Google Analytics is a free tool offered by Google that can help you track all activity that happens on your site. You can also set up goals and PayPal tracking inside of Google Analytics and import Goals and Transactions to AdWords. Google Analytics should be able to help you track what you're trying to with PayPal.
Also, this article does a great job talking about integrating PayPal with AdWords Conversion Tracking and Analytics.
