Hi

Could you please help us with Analytics & Adwords Conversion Tracking codes.

Currently we are tracking website data & conversions(fr Landing Pages) from one main domain. But we are planning to move it to sub domain, So in that case, do we need separate analytics property and conversion codes or we can use the one we already have with main domain ?

Hi Balaji,

You can use the same Adwords code that you have for the main domain.

And for Analytics if you have latest Universal Analytics installed then you don’t need to make any change to the code and no new analytics property require. But if you have the old version Classis Google Analytics than you need to make a small change within your code. Simply go to Admin -> Property -> Tracking Info and make sure ‘Subdomains of [yoursite] ‘is set to on. This will add the following code: _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'yoursite.com']);
You can also manually add the code to your analytics code if you are comfortable doing so.

By default, the data in your reports includes only the Request URI and not the domain name: to include the complete url with in your reports you will have to create an Advanced filter for your view. Check out how to do that:

Hope that helps,
