'Clicks and Sessions Discrepancy' on front page when redirecting to /de/

We're running ads for a website that uses the /de/ language extension in the url. At the moment only german is used so all visitors are being redirected from the front page to /de/ (still the front page). All other urls also include the /de/.

The notification 'Clicks and Sessions Discrepancy' is showing in Analytics every once in awhile and it's always the front page with the language extension.

Could that instant redirect that our system does cause problems with tracking? Should we therefore always include the language extension in the target url when sending people to the front page?

Thank you for your advise.

Hi Christian S,

Theoretically, that forward should be ok, but the forward needs to forward the query string as well. How you do that depends on your web server software. If you are using Apache, make sure your redirect statement includes the query string. If you're using Windows, do not check the box "Exact URL", that should forward the query string as well.

It would be simpler to include language extension in your URL's.

Best of Luck!

Pete
