Click fraud botnet attack

For the last 5-6 days every single banner that we have displayed anywhere on the net has been attacked by ghost clicks. 95% of all visitors are fake, and there is no question that a competitor has ordered an attack on our banners.

Has anybody any experience with this. What measures can we take?

I´ve read that competitors buy the service of hackers to drain marketing budgets, but I have also read that you can only kill so many banners, as it is quite expensive to keep up the operation.

Can this keep on forever, or is there a strategy to be employed to get this **bleep** off our backs?

Will it help to upload so many campaigns, that we will drain his budget before he drains ours, or how does this work?
