Change of conversion trigger

Hey there,

I am using GTM and I want to change the trigger for one AdWords pixel.

Now my question: will the change of the trigger only have an effect on future conversion or will it also change my past conversion data?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Barbara

This change will only affect to future conversions. Your past conversion data will stay untouched.

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for posting to the Community! Changing what you track with a particular snippet of AdWords conversion code will not change data that has already been recorded. If you want to change what you are tracking, I would recommend instead creating a new conversion action (and code snippet) in AdWords and giving it a name that makes it easy to identify it as tracking the new conversion action. Then you can pause the action you were previously tracking so that you will be able to preserve the data, but also begin to optimize using the new action.

Hope this helps!
Cassie
