Hi there,

Conversion Tracking code is meant to be placed on websites, to measure how many your site visitors (form AdWords more importantly) are converting. Placing the code in an email wouldn't be appropriate, as viewing the email or clicking on it doesn't amount to a conversion. More about conversion tracking here.

However, there are impression & click trackers (used in email marketing campaigns) you can use.

Hi,

You can track conversions coming from your email campaign by adding custom UTM tracking parameter to you email campaign.

This will give you information about campaign, source, content.

Regards,

Hi Andrew R,

The simple answer is "No".

A little more detail: The conversion tracking works with a 3rd party cookie. That cookie gets set by your browser when you click on an ad. If the user uses Thunderbird, Outlook, or any other desktop email program, that cookie will not exist, it only exists for the browser, so the "conversion" won't get recorded. If they use an online email reader through the same browser with the cookie, the conversion could be recorded.

Best of Luck!
