Calling from Another Country, is Call Extension Working Properly?
I have set up a call only campaign for one of my Australian clients. Before today (today is 29th August, 2016), I can see there are 2 clicks (which are conversions according to Google's call only campaign guideline). But my client is saying, he didn't receive any call.
I did a test today from my mobile. I live in Bangladesh. When I click on "call" button from Google ads for my search (I searched in Google.com.au), a Google forwarding number popped up "1800 243 XXX", I confirmed to call but my mobile operator said "it's unreachable". Again I tried but same message. I couldn't make the call.
When I tried with Skype, my client received the call (I tried Google forwarding number with country extension +61). (Note, I manually dialled Google forwarding number from Skype as I took the number when I was calling from my mobile)
Interesting thing is, I can see now, there are two clicks in call only campaign. I couldn't make the call but it's showing as clicks and charged my client for the clicks. Of course, these are not valid conversions.
My question is, why I can't reach from my mobile and what will happen when people will try from Australia?
I have now two numbers set as call extension. Earlier I had one, but after today's incident I set another number with Country extension.
One call extension is like 0405722XXX (I set it before, Country is Australia)
Another call extension is like : +61405722XXX (I got this from Skype when I called my client's mobile number. This is not Google forwarding number.)
Please note, I have marked "Show my Ad with A Google forwarding phone number and use call reporting" in my call only ads. Also I have "Phone Conversion" set up (Calls from call-only ads or ads using call extensions.)
