Are geo audience stats for London accurate?

I'm just wondering if there's a reason why users and conversions may be automatically tracked as 'London', even if the users aren't actually based there?

The reason I ask is, for a regional campaign in the North West of England, the most of our visits and conversions are showing as being from London, with the city we're targeting and gaining most of our customers from in real life actually being second - but this isn't an accurate reflection of our customer data, nowhere near in fact. There are very few 'real life' conversions from London.

So would the location for some users automatically default to 'London' in some cases?

Could it be that users in London search  about your service in north west England? (Target by intent)

Are your Geo targeting setting is "people in my location, and  searching about..." or: " people in my location only"

But let me also ping our UK based TC, @Jon_Gritton

Hi Chris JM,

Agree with Moshe LTV,

Please check your advance location option I think it is “Reach people in, searching for, or viewing pages about my targeted location" as it is default. Read about this here - https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1722038?hl=en

Thanks,
