Android App Install Search campaign tracking issue

Hi Community,

I have created some mobile app install search campaigns and wanted to track the traffic and revenue generated from these campaigns in my tracking tool. Since we cannot track data using the tracking template in mobile app install campaigns as per google "To improve the user experience, starting July 15, 2015, click redirects for Android mobile app install ads and app extensions will stop serving on the Google Search Network." I wanted to know if there's any other smart way to track the clicks data in our tracking tool. We tried post back URL's and server to server integration also.
Tracking tool info - We used to create a specific URL for every ad group or campaign which will revert the GCLID to the tracking tool, so we're able to track the traffic for remaining campaigns.

Post back URL is not firing. Can someone help me to fix this issue.

Thanks and Regards,

Harikesh Reddy

Hey Harikesh, how are things?

I can't think of any solution other than using self made parameters with manual values and try to use them on the Final URL as one URL, almost as if they were URL filters like URLs for e-commerce.

You can try something like this on the final URL and see if it works: mysite.com.br/app/install?source=Google&campaign=XXX&keyword=YYY

I don't know if this will work, but you can try to setup an Analytics on your app and create a Mobile Property, and try to link that with Adwords. I don't know if it's possible to sync Adwords with Mobile Properties (never done that), but it's worth the shot.

Create a Mobile Property:

Link Adwords with GA:

On thing to my curiosity, how did you revert the GCLID parameter?

Hope this helps.

Hi Leandro,

Thanks for the reply,

I have Android app install search campaigns and we created a conversion with name "app first open" to track the data in third party tracking tool. To my knowledge I did configure everything perfectly but the post back URL in this conversion is not firing back from AdWords. this is the main issue I'm facing.
