Why is it not possible to add universal app campaigns in a campaign group?

I tried to add my Universal App Campaign to a Campaign Group and realized that that is not possible? can anybody explain why?

it would make a lot of sense to me to have all my iOS campaigns in one "campaign group" and all my android campaigns in the other "campaign group"

cheers,

florian

Hi @Florian B,

The campaign group is created to measure the performance target. The performance targets can be two either clicks or Conversions.

But after the measuring the performance, you may adjust or change the campaign setting to get the set performance target.

As you have mentioned that you are not able to add the UAC campaign in campaign group. It is clearly written in the help center article that  "not every campaign must belong to a group". Pls read here

If I understood you correctly app campaign is a campaign  level targeting. The audience targeted is set at the campaign level. You should open a universal app campaign.

Hi,

hmmm, I think I was not clear enough.

There is an option in AdWords called: "Campaign Groups" on the left hand side. there you can group together campaign to have a nice overview of (in my examples) all the Ad Spendings for all campaigns to get iOS app installs, or group together all campaigns where the goal is to get Android app installs (of the app I am advertising for with AdWords). BUT it seems to me that it is not possible to put campaigns with the campaign type "Universal App Campaign" into this groups, and I have no idea why? Are they too new? is it a bug? does anybody else also have that problem? Smiley Happy
