Keyword planner not working for me 2016-09-22

Hello, I am new to the forum.

 

I am accessing the Google keyword planner tool from Toronto, Ontario.

 

I am having issues with the keyword planner tool (2016-09-22). I have been trying to access search volumes for the past few days but keep getting this response:

 

Oops! We can't display search volume charts.
Please try again.

 

Can I expect this issue to be resolved soon? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Darren,

 

Are you using an active adwords account for keyword planner, recently adwords is not showing data for accounts where there is no active campaigns or never been used.

Lakatos, a few months ago I switched to an Adwords manager account (https://www.google.com/adwords/manager-accounts/) I did not have any accounts in the manager account. I was just preparing the account for a later date, when I would add clients. I was getting exact keyword search volumes for a while, then it went to ranges from 0-100, 100-1k, 1k-10k, etc., then one day when I tried to get search volumes, the tool just said: "Oops! We can't display search volume charts.
Please try again."

 

I set up another Adwords account added a credit card to the account, started a campaign and then paused it. With this account I was able to get search volumes. Unfortunately the search volumes range from 0-100, 100-1k, 1k-10k, etc.

 

This raises another question for me though, if I un pause the account will I get exact search volumes rather than ranging from 0-100, 100-1k, 1k-10k, etc.

so its still not fixed then, i've done the same thing and its' still not showing exact numbers

Thanks to @Darren S for sharing his valuable experience. Much appreciated.

 

I am not affected by the issue, however, this is how I could advise the other users in this topic. There is an important ongoing thread on this subject in the AdWords Announcements category of this forum.

A certain user by the name @Jae B posted this finding on Aug 19, 2016. "...found out that if I spend at least the recommended amount in the range that Google provides, 24 hours later I have full access to the keyword planner." That seems an important contribution. In fact, he posted 2 entries that day which may be worth reading for yourselves.
