Gmail ads not going to website

I have a gmail ad campaign running, and the links are all correct. It is getting a very large number of clicks, and none of them are showing up in analytics. Hundreds of clicks are showing up in adwords and being paid for, but they are not ever reaching the website.

Thoughts?

Hi Collin,

I have a hunch here on something.

Are you referring to 'clicks to website' or clicks (email opens)? With Gmail reporting, you should enable the Gmail columns for your campaign and also explore the Dimensions > Free Clicks report to see additional engagement metrics.

Hope this helps!

You could try manually tagging the links in your Gmail ads:

Hi Collin,

Please cross check first that your AdWords linked with Analytics or not. If yes then you are using Auto Tagging option or Manual UTM Tracking. If you are using both then your data will not record correctly in the Analytics.

For Avoid this situation, Please go through the URL which is shared by RobSkelton.

Thanks,

Thanks for the input Tommy!

You are quite right that the majority of the clicks are not clicks to the website. I was not aware that the new gmail ad product counted clicks that didn't result in the visitor going to the website, which seems odd.
