AdWords traffic showing as Google Organic in Analytics

I have linked my adwords account to my GA and set up all the auto-tagging. I can see the Adwords data in GA but still, it counts the traffic as direct traffic. May I know why?

Hi there,

The most common reason for this is redirects within your site, often from a non-secure to a secure site. So the first thing to check is that the final URL in your ads is exactly the same as where people end up.

I just found out only the old data is not shown in the channel setting. As
the adwords account is not linked with GA account before I joined the
company. I can still see the adwords data in GA, but is that anyway I can
group those data in "paid search" in channel before the date I linked my GA
and Adwords?

Hi again,

Unfortunately changes to make to Analytics (or AdWords) will only affect reporting going forward.
