Your display URL needs to accurately reflect the URL of your website

I'm having a problem submitting ads.

This is the warning I get in Editor "Your display URL needs to accurately reflect the URL of your website and be a viable web address that is part of your ad's destination domain."

I've tried changing the display URL so that it only includes the domain of the landing page to which I send traffic

For example - MySite.com

I'm using  a URL shortener in the final URL, which is permitted in the policies, but the ads are still refused.

This has only happened since the recent update to adwords editor.

As I said, the URL for tracking purposes should go into Tracking Template field. Final URL field should reflect the actual landing page - basically, what the user would see in the browser's address bar after clicking your ad and landing at your site.

The error comes from the server, Editor is just passing it along. You should be getting the same error if you try to create this ad in the online interface. Any seeming correlation with upgrading to the new Editor version is a coincidence.

AdWords policy is outside my area of expertise (which is all things Editor), so what follows is half-informed speculation. A quick search found this article

https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/6080568

which suggests that a) final URL shall not redirect, and b) the domain of display URL should match that of final URL. This would appear to preclude any kind of URL shortening or third-party tracking services; all such things should go into the tracking template.

Hi Igor,

Thanks for your reply with feedback on the editor situation.

Also thanks for trying to find an answer, but it doesn't solve my problem unfortunately.

My display URL is the actual domain for my landing page, but we send the traffic through a short URL for tracking purposes.
