Writing ads for URLs that redirects.
I am composing search ads for websites that redirects the user according to their location e.g. NSW users will be redirected to their NSW URLs and brands but QLD will be redirected and resolve into a different URLs. What will be a best way to write ads and target these ads?
an example of the scenario:
www.abc.com.au = generic URLs that has been advertised on web
If a user islocated in NSW who typed in "www.abc.com.au" they will be redirected to "nsw.abc.com.au" and
if a user is located in QLD who typed in "www.abc.com.au" they will be redirected to "qld.abc.com.au" so on.
What will be a best practice to write and target these ads?
Re: Writing ads for URLs that redirects.
What you are proposing would be approved as per our Display/Destination URL Policy. As long as the root domain of the destination URL matches the domain of your display URL, you are compliant.
So, in your example www.abc.com.au is your website, and the URL that you are showing as your Display URL. So, as abc.com.au the root domain you'll need to make sure that the final URL that your customers land on is a part of that; nsw.abc.com.au, abc.com.au/nsw, nsw.abc.com.au/home, etc.
Hopefully this answers your question!
