Hello,

We are writing to you from a UK online pharmacy - Pharmacy2u.co.uk (adwords ID can be supplied on request). Unfortunately at this time, we are not currently able to advertise on Adwords.

We've been advised that as we are unapproved with Legitscript, we can not advertise on Adwords, however at present, 8 other UK advertisers are also unapproved with Legitscript and are currently advertising on Adwords.

The Adwords policy with regards to Healthcare states that "To be certified with Google, online pharmacies must be registered with the relevant pharmaceutical authorities in the countries that their ad campaign targets. We are fully registered with all the relevant pharmaceutical authorities in the UK. Note, we do (/did) not target ads outside of the UK.

For the UK specifically, the policy states: "Google allows the promotion of online pharmacies if they're registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and don't promote prescription drugs in their ads and landing pages. Advertisers must also be certified with Google. See how to apply above."

We are UK based, and registered with the GPhC and at the time of disapproval, none of our ads or LP's contained reference to prescription drugs.

Prior to our ads being taken offline, we had had some adverts placed on hold as they did not meet with Adwords Pharmaceutical adwords policy, these were quickly resolved and set live again
https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/176031?hl=en&ref_topic=1310883).

Currently, a number of UK advertisers are live on Adwords with similar breaches and have been since at least November 2014, despite multiple reports.

All of the above has been repeatedly submitted to the Adwords policy team but we have had no response or seen any action taken.

Does anyone have a similar experience or could assist further with any of the above?

Thanks in advance

Hi there;
>>"We've been advised that as we are unapproved with Legitscript, we cannot advertise on Adwords, "

Who told you that?

OK; we have checked with Google;

Your status with legistscript is "unapproved". This is only one signal by Google to grade your online reliability.

The requirement as stated in the Policy still holds.

Please ask your account manager at Google to submit a request for consultation with a policy enforcement specialist.

Hi there,

we are having a similar-ish issue with our account. Our ad has been disapproved because we have a link to a third party website which is an online pharmacy - which is GPhC approved. We would not use adwords to promote the pharmacy but focus on generating traffic to our site - still customer services have had to escalate this and informed me that i had to get a letter form GPhC confirming that or apply for a GPhC number linking to our url - even though we are not an online pharmacy but a charity linking to a registered online pharmacy. Has any of you ever encountered this issue? How did you go about it?

thank you,

Marie
