Site Suspended Due to Malware

Hello,

Recently our site was suspended due to malware being on the site. When this typically happens, the malware comes from an Adsense ad, which is obviously run by Google. The Adwords team was able to provide a link - <edited by a Community Manager as noted below>

We could not find said link on the site, but have since been approved with all ads running.

Three questions:

1. How can a bad ad be coming through the system, when Adsense is displaying the ad?

2. When blocking the ad, do we just block the link given to us?

3.Should we block google.com since it appears to be the source of the malware?

Has anyone else had this issue? This happens to one of our sites at least once a month. How do we prevent this from happening again?

NOTE: This post has been edited by a Community Manager in order to remove a link which has the potential to put other members at risk.

As a best practice, please do not post links to sites that are suspected of - or flagged as having - Malware.

This issue has been covered in the press: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2871032/google-nixes-widespread-malvertising-attack.html

I always recommend actively reviewing and if necessary blocking ads. https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/180609?hl=en&ref_topic=23390
