Hi, I'm new to google adwords and working on a news site.  I noticed a ppc ad for a company selling pharmaceautical products online, how are they able to advertise with the current google ad rules on online pharmacies (skinsolutions.md)?

Hi Gail,

There are numerous policies and they vary between industries. You can find all of the policies here: https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/1316548?hl=en and the specifics on Medicines & Pharmaceuticals here: https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/176031?hl=en

Having worked on some Pharma accounts myself, I know that they are allowed as long as you follow Google's guidelines.

Hi Tommy, thanks for your response. Follow up questions as I'm starting bling... It's my understanding that PPC ads will not be approved if they relate to "selling" or linked to a site who sells pharmaceautical products, such as Latisse made by Allergan. I've seen ppc ads for LongLashesOnline. LongLashes online actually sells a pharma product/Latisse online, so how are they getting their ads approved? Cheers, GJ

Hi Gail,

Sorry, I wouldn't be able to speak intelligently about the practices of the Google policy folks. What I can suggest is if you think there is an issue, report it here: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/176378?hl=en

I am jumping in here, to add / clarify that  pharma companies are allowed to promote informational sites of their medication.  (As  Lattise by Allergan)

So (quote), ".... It's my understanding that PPC ads will not be approved if they relate to "selling" or linked to a site who sells pharmaceutical products, such as Latisse made by Allergan" -  is  mistaken

Hi Mishe,
Thanks for jumping in. I do understand the pharma rules & regs by Google, what I do not understand is how a company like SkinSolutions.md http://www.skinsolutions.md/
can have Google PPC ads running per the pharma rules and regs...as they do sell a pharmaceutical product, Latisse. Is there something I'm missing or a loophole they are using to avoid the Google advertising rules & regs? Thanks again for helping me out.

Hello again Gail;
It seems that they somehow were not identified by Google's robots. (i.e '"escaped the radar")
Pls. report using the link Tommy provided.
