Redirecting final urls of sitelinks by google

Google redirects my final urls to homepage for one of the sitelinks. The status is approved and I can see the url I have set up but when i click on the actual add it redirects to the homepage. What can be the reason of this? Has anyone ever had a similar problem?

Hi Kamila,

Subdomain is not a problem. I asked you to check to open the URL directly by entering it in the browser. Does it open the exact URL you intend to open?

For instance, if your sitelink is mylink.mydomain.com, copy this exactly from the sitelink field from the AdWords interface and paste in your browser. Does it open your URL without any redirect?

Also, make sure to verify that your web server does not have any redirect rules for such URLs. Sometimes, redirect rules like non www to www, http to https or any other similar redirect rules may be doing unwanted redirects.

If it still does not solve the problem, please contact the AdWords Phone support. Here's the detail for you -

Thanks

Hi Kamila,

Google won't be redirecting your Sitelink to a different URL, at least I haven't come across something like this ever. Have you tried accessing that URL in your browser directly? Are you able to access it?

A few more questions...

Are you using Tracking Template as well? If yes, there may be problems with it. Make a combination of your Final URL and Tracking Template (without {lpurl}? ) and try accessing it directly in the browser. Can you access it?

It should solve the problem at any point in the suggestions above. If it does not, could you share the URL and Tracking Template (if any) here?

Thanks
Ratan Jha

Thanks for you reply! No I'm not using any Tracking Template and yes, I have checked my ads in the browser. It has never happened to me before either but it is really redirecting if you click on the sitelink. Does it have anything to do, that I'm using a subdomain in this sitelink?
