Policy Violation Untrustworthy Promotions

Hi,

I received this email about my site http://www.micromaze.com.au

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Policy violation:
Untrustworthy Promotions

About this violation:
When we suspend an advertiser for untrustworthy promotions, it typically means there is something fundamentally wrong with the business itself, posing an immediate threat to our users' safety -- whether online or offline.  Examples of untrustworthy behavior include enticing users to part with money or information under false or unclear pretenses; presenting a false identity, business name, or contact information; charging users for products or services typically available for free; and sites that are "phishing" for users' information.

We take untrustworthy promotions very seriously and consider them to be an egregious violation of our policies. In determining whether an advertiser or site is untrustworthy, we may review information from multiple sources including your ad, website, accounts, and third party sources. Advertisers or sites that are found to be untrustworthy will be immediately suspended and won't be allowed to advertise with us again.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been in business for 35 years and I thought that my site represented what I did. I don't ask for money or present a false identity, just not sure why I would be rejected.  I made some changes to the site and resubmitted.  Same result.

Can anyone help?

We have had several queries here the same as yours, that also provide tech or IT help. It appears that Google has had problems with such services once upon a time.

Examples:

https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Ad-Approval-Policy/Untrustworthy-Promotions-Violation-Acco...

I doubt you would be suspended for just the service you provide. It would be combined with other signals - " we may review information from multiple sources including your ad, website, accounts, and third party sources. ".

At a guess, it could be a spammy-looking backlink profile. For example if most of your backlinks come from forums, foreign sites or sitewide links.

It looks like the page of links to the websites I designed was the culprit. They formed a link/backlink to websites that had nothing to do with my business. Now reinstated.
