Online Betting ads in Google 2014

Hi all,

We're a PPC service provider who's about to launch a campaign for football online betting. Upon studying Google's guidelines and application for online betting [https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/176014?hl=en], it seems like my client's target locations aren't included in the application form.

Does it mean that ultimately, we can't advertise in those countries?

Would love to hear your expert thoughts on this. Thanks! Smiley Happy

Correct; Unless listed under the requirements for specific countries you cannot advertise.

And what about the licensing bodies required for registration - are other authorized licensing bodies apart from those in the drop down menu invalid?

Only the listed registration / licensing bodies are approved. Unless you are certified/ licensed by one of them - you cannot advertise.

What about this one: AdWords Policy says that "Google also doesn't allow pages obviously driving traffic to online gambling sites such as through excessive third-party ads." Does it mean that if the ads and the landing page's contents are not "obviously" promoting gambling, then it's fine? How do they qualify "obviously"?

Case has been escalated to a Google Policy specialist. Let's wait until Google re-review the case.
