My competitors are illegally using our registered name in their ads!!!

My competitors are illegally using our registered company name in their google ads that are targetted at our website. So the unsuspecting consumer who is searching for our business sees these ads and are diverted to the competitors website. This is causing lots of problems for the consumer and for our business.

I have tried a few times to request Google to respond and prevent this illegal and unethical practice from continuing but no luck so far. Any suggestions?????

Hi Ian,

Welcome to the community Smiley Happy

Google has a strict Trademark policy to protect interests of Trademark owners.

The policy has many variations based on the country where the ads are displyed.

Find more details here.

If you find your competitors are violation the policy, then you can file a trademark complaint with Google.

But as a first step you can try contacting your competitor directly with a friendly mail to raise your concerns.

And if they ignore your request, then you can file a complaint with Google.

Find more information here.

Trade Mark Complaint form.

Hope this helps,
