Life time ban for first time minor offense

I'm not alone here as I see many people have the same issue.

Several years ago, I was trying to learn how to make money online using blogs and adwords.  I participated in a program that offered a franchise model of websites that provided the content on how to teach others how to make quality blogs and advertised this website using adwords.

I don't see how this website was considered "get rich quick" or "low quality" as the content was stuff like "write quality content" and "write regularly".  It was simple honest advice, and for some reason Google consisdered this a violation of their terms and conditions.

Now here's the punchline.  I received no warning, no indication that Google disapproved of advertising this website.  I simply received a message saying that I had received a LIFETIME ban from adwords, with no possible appeal.

I have tried several times to reach a compassionate human at Google over the years to no avail.  The closest I have found to a suggested solution was "Fix the website and we will review the case."  Hello!  The website doesn't exist.  It died when I wasn't allowed to advertise it.  I no longer own that domain name and it is impossible for me toget it back and "fix" it.

So the response from Google is "too bad".  So much for "Don't be evil".

Are there any reasonable people that work at Google that can understand giving a LIFETIME ban for a first time potential minor violation of the terms and conditions with no warning is a punishment not fitting the "crime"?

Hi Steve,
You're not going to get a reply from Google on this one. Their policy is their policy. Don't shoot the messenger but ignorance is not an excuse.

It's unfair I know but Google are ruthless about protecting their multi billion dollar program and no exceptions means no exceptions. You get one chance and if you blow it, Google doesn't ever want to know you again. They have far too many shareholders, advertisers and customers (searchers) to protect than to be giving those who violate their policies a second chance. It's their product and they are under no obligation to let you use it. In fact, I think it's actually a sound policy to have as it's protected the program quite a bit. I know it's difficult to step back and look at it from their POV but if you can, you'll understand it's a sound policy. Their efforts are better spent improving their service than spending time figuring out if the "punishment fit the crime". They can make a lot more money making the service better for everyone else than they can letting someone who's proved to be a risk to their company back in.

You're not the first to post here on this subject and you certainly wont be the last but you're not going to find the answer you're looking for here I'm afraid. Sorry.

I don't work for Google so again, don't shoot the messenger.

Hello Steve;

Dave  (@Dave_Davis)   outlined / gave an overview about the suspension process at Google.

For the specific case of an  affiliate: Once you had been  involved in  / linked to  an  affiliate program,  which was suspended,  your case could be  appealed only if the landing page was fixed.

I understand that you have no control over the content of the landing page. However, this is a firm policy by Google: A landing page in violation, must be fixed prior to an appeal. Selling  or abondinhg the URL will not resolve the issue.

OK, the website in questions is available for sale and I re-purchased it and put up a mst assuredly non-offensive site there.  How do I get a review?

OK, put the site up for review and they still just say "no" without clarification.

Any ideas why this site is a violation of their policy:

Vipin,

Thanks for the ideas. I have removed all pages except for the blog and stopped collecting user information.

It is hard for me to believe that every adwords website must be https.

Does every adwords site have to have a privacy policy? I don't know how to do that, besides copy Google's privacy policy and put on my site. Do they want that?

Whosoever take personal information on website need to be on https. Privacy policy is required if you are taking their information for contacting them. You need to write in privacy policy how can a user remove their detail from you database if they dont want you to contact them,
