Every time I click on a link to an interesting article that one of my Facebook friends posts I see these sleazy ads, especially daily mail. I quickly come out of there but I miss reading the article.

Hi @Jennifer A,

If its regarding the Facebook ads then this is not the right place to get the assistance.

It can be prevented either from the Facebook settings or get assistance from their support team.

Hi Jennifer,

Please note that this is a help forum for operators of Google AdWords, not Facebook.

The ads on Facebook can be marked (upper right hand corner of the ad is a small down arrow) so the FB system does not show them to you. And you can go to your personal profile and click on settings and then click on the ads tab and adjust your account. Both of these features allow you to fully control what ads you see on Facebook.

Further, you can go to your Google account and adjust your ad preferences... and you can adjust your web browser, too.

And your mobile device also offers specific settings to control ads.

Finally, some websites provide a premium service where you pay for an account with them and they stop showing ads to you. The ads are essentially paying for free usage.

Kind Regards,
