How do you get your company name trademarked?

How do your get your company name trademarked. A company is using my company name (changing order) in their Adwords to draw business away from my site, because their ad is ranked higher than my website

how to get a trademark depends on a specific country's laws --
for the u.s., trademarks are via the department-of-commerce:
http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/

if any advertiser or their website seems to show signs
of any unfair practices or violating any adwords-policy --
including violating trademarks -- simply file a complaint
using the following form:
https://support.google.com/adwords/contact/feedback

google specialists will evaluate each complaint
and appropriate action will be taken if required.
