Guns & parts policy

Hi,

We have many adwords accounts, all on paintball games in different countires as we are a global company. Recently we have had one of our accounts Suspended due to the Site policies:Guns and parts.

I have contacted Support to find out why this account has a problem all of the others are fine. They were hard to understand on the phone and insisted we were selling guns, which we are not.

We are an outdoor recreational facility that facilitates paintball games to paying patrons i.e. we rent out all of the equipment to customers who play various themed missions across our facility. Much like a go-kart track which rents out the karts, the helmets and the driving suits to their patrons (rather than selling the afore mentioned items), we provide our players with all of the equipment to rent for a game of paintball. All of the paintball guns that we have in our possession are for rental purposes only, and they are permitted to be used as a rental item at our paintball facility only. We are not authorised to sell any paintball guns – we only rent out the equipment to customers for a single day use at our paintball facility.

I do not know where to go from here, is there a higher support person I can access? This is for our New Zealand account.

Many thanks for any help to understand what the problem is.

Hello Tom,

as far as I know promoting any guns, even recreational guns like paintball guns is forbidden. So if you have your account suspended it is all absolutely justly.

You said your company is all over world advertising for paintball guns? Then probably I would be worried about other accounts as well.

Hi @Tom J

The Policy on this issue is clear:

The promotion of the following is not allowed:

Functional devices that appear to discharge a projectile at high velocity, whether for sport, self-defense, or combat
(Note that we err on the side of caution and apply this policy to sporting or recreational guns that can cause serious harm if misused, or that appear to be real guns.)

  • Examples: Handguns, rifles, shotguns, hunting guns, functioning antique guns, airsoft guns, paintball guns, bb guns

I urge you to fully check all other accounts and verify that they  fully comply with the "dangerous goods and services" section of the Policy.

Thanks for the replies.

I had a long conversation with a adwords specialist, and it turns out we can use adwords as long as the website is focused on paintball games, not just paintball. So we are rewriting the website to comply.

@Tom J;

Not to my knowledge and experience. I would  recommend double check with Google (ask the rep to check with a policy specialist) before getting into spending time and money on a redesign and rewriting the website.
