Fraudulent Adwords Campaign - Why and How Do We Stop This?

We have an Adwords Account that does not belong to our client advertising to direct traffic to our site. The ads only start at 18:00 pm when all our campaigns are paused and curiously, when the Google helpline is closed as well.  We suspect that the traffic directed at our site is:

A) redirected based on referrer to a competitor's site

B) they have highjacked the from used to obtain a lead.

Has anybody come across this?

How can we stop this?

Would this be refferd to as fraudulent campaigns? In the eyes of Google they may see nothing wrong with this.

Hi Diego,
I suggest that you use this feedback form to submit the details of the ad:

Hi Diego, are you saying that someone else is paying to advertise your clients' site?

I think it's far more likely that the Ads were originally built by your client and they have forgotten (or lost) the details of the Account - I've seen this happen more than once.  There's also the possibility that the Ads are from AdWords Express, not AdWords.

In any case, the best route, as Dave has said is to contact support.

Many thanks Cobnut and Dave_Davis we will investigate with the client.

We have encypted the form on the site, taken them onto a new site, set sniffers and heatmapping to ensure no data is being stolen.

So your answers seem ver reasonable.

Diego
