Don't understand why my ad is disapproved

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

Hello,

My site is www.OptionTiger.com - it's a well ranked site by Google, and I have over 150 videos on my Youtube channel.

My ad is disapproved for the following reason - "information Harvesting".

My ad is a webinar I'm conducting, and I want people to register. Google's policies seem to be clear, that as long as the ad is not used simply to collect information, collecting a name and email is acceptable. My site has over 150 pages of cutting-edge stock market products and commentary.

I fail to see why this is considered information harvesting. If people want to attend a webinar, they must register, right ?

Please help

Thanks

Hari Swaminathan

You seem to be violating the "easy money" clause  of the Policy;

As said, this business model cannot be advertised on Google;

>> Why don't they just say that ?

Moshe said it best in the post above, and in a less harsh way than I will, but basically saying the same thing.

Google wants and expect advertisers to read the rules and comply with them. They are not there to hand-hold advertisers. They grant you the privilege to use their system, nothing else. It's up to you to read the rules and that's what they are telling you to do.

I've heard of many advertisers leaving Adwords because of this, usually saying "stupid rules" and "they won't get my money, their loss". Guess what? Google doesn't want that sort of advertiser using their system. The money won't be missed either.

You have to carefully read and understand those rules. Most are common sense. Others like the misleading claims we believe you are violating can seem vague. You just have to put yourself in Google's shoes and think like them. I guarantee that once the light bulb goes on, you'll always write your copy with those rules in mind.

In your privacy policy:

"When creating a User Account or using the OptionTiger Trading, LLC Services, you will provide certain personal information to us (“User Information”). You agree that we may use your User Information to contact you regarding services we provide. We may also provide your e-mail address or contact information to OptionTiger Trading, LLC affiliates for marketing our services."

This sounds like information harvesting to me.

This is the reply I got - its now been suspended..I'm ready to take corrective action, but they're not saying what the issue is -

"Proven system with a track record consistently produces a monthly return of 5-10%, month after month."

I don't think you can use that sort of language. You can't guarantee this. Not saying that's the problem but that's what stuck out at me.

Thanks to all of you who are chiming in - this is extremely helpful. I agree with the points you all made - ok so some language could be improved. Why don't they just say that ? Their replies are almost robotic, and are not helpful. They keep saying the same things.

I'm perfectly happy to make any changes that they want. But its not practical to engage in a guessing game, trying to predict what they might be having a problem with.

And right now, my account is suspended, and all they do is keep saying it is suspended. Well, I know it is suspended. They're just not being helpful.

Any tips and help on how to deal with this is greatly appreciated friends. Many of you have even taken the time to read the policies on the site. I can't say enough how much I appreciate that..

Thanks

Hari

Thank you Moshe, really appreciate it. The link you provided took me to a page titled "User safety". I did see this term referenced in one of the emails I received from Google. (Although that was not the email I copied here on my earlier post). I think you're right - its probably the easy money language. I'm going to work on that. It would be extremely helpful if they just say that's what it is-

Anyways, thanks a lot for your help, and everyone else as well. Every one of the responses was extremely helpful, and please pardon me if I did not reply specifically to something you suggested. Be assured I learnt something from every response here. Appreciate it..

Moshe, I've seen some official Google personnel respond on other posts. Any idea what it takes to get a Google person to weigh in on this ? My goal is to get this rectified once and for all, and rather than play a guessing game, it would be best if a Google employee provides their inputs. Do you know how I can get this done ?

Thanks a lot for all your help on this matter.

Hari

Hello again;

Google specialist comment in cases in which the policy might be ambiguous;

This is not the case;

You can contact Google using the link provided in the email .Google replies only if a specialist has something "valuable" to add. Otherwise, an automated reply means: "all answers found in the Policy".

Many advertisers don't like this approach. Many think that Google should do better in guiding suspended advertisers. However; I am not with Google, and have no control over Google's CS processes.
