Disabled Gambling account

Hi All,

It has been several months since our company account has been disabled. The account was managed by myself and some of my coworkers in the past. A couple of months ago our account was disabled - from what I understood, most probably due to content issues.

At our account we ran only gambling campaigns mostly - we used adwords actively for around 2 years. We had campaigns in several markets over this period, lastly in United Kingdom (we have all the needed documents/licenses for that and we completed the verification process as needed).

A couple of months ago our account was suddenly suspended - I made several phone calls with the Bulgarian support, and exchanged many emails with adwords support in general. From the limited info which I got - our account was suspended due to "misleading content". Either me or my colleagues published something that was not allowed from google T&C. I immediately switched to the most basic/standard landing page that we have and send back as appeal, yet my request was rejected.

First of all I really don't think we broke Adwords rules for content - at our company we have an entire department, which deals only with UKGC requirements (United Kingdom Gambling Commission) and every single sentence/image is carefully revised and approved from authorities before going live to our website.

My colleagues before me followed the same policy, so I really think there is some kind of misunderstanding with our account. I want also to point out that we have a second account registered under our name, but is not intention to have multiple accounts - we want a single active account where we can continue our gambling campaigns.

So, I am trying to find a resolution here, a way to recover our account.

Any advice will be much appreciated, I am also willing to provide any further information needed for our account.

Best regards,

Hristo Stoyanov

Hello again @Hristo S;

Following our request Google rechecked the case.

In the bearer of the bad news:  Google not reinstate the account. No further details provided.

I have been afraid, that you will not be able to advertise on Google further.

There are other channels, though, on other platforms. The ocean is big....

Hi there;

What is the reason for suspension mentioned in the suspension email received from Google? This is the key whether you can appeal.

Also note: if an  appeal is allowed (depending on the reason - as mentioned in the notification email) you MUST first fix the webpage and bring ALL content to fully comply with the Policy.

Hi Moshe,

Thank you for your swift reply.

The reason mentioned in the email is, I quote ""manipulating ad text or site content"".

I never change the ad text after the ad is approved, we hat 4-5 different adds active at the time, in 2 separate campaigns. I don't think we breached anything in the at text however. I am adding example of the ad text which we used below (only our domain name is hidden, everything else is the same as we used it):

"SITENAME Online Casino UK
Get 200GBP Casino Bonus, Free Spins
Casino Slots, Live roulette"

I don't think this text breaches T&C, pretty standard gambling content (again I want to remind that our account is ceritfied and approved for that).

For the onsite content - I want to note that we did made changes - one of the landing pages was dynamic - games changing constantly, the others were promotion pages, still we change our bonuses from time to time = the images and text also get changed inside the page.

Again, the message in our landing pages was (and still is) very clear and most importantly approved by UK Gambling Comission. Last but not least it doesn't breach adwords terms in any way - just very streight forward casino bonus promotions, with clear terms for the players.

For the appeal - I did had the chance to make an appeal and I used it, but as mentioned in the first post, I got rejected.
I don't think the decision is fair however, I believe that this is some kind of misunderstanding.

I will not submit our landing pages in the forum, however if you find appropriate, I can send it to you via private message to you, that you can check whether our pages are legitimate and follow adwords terms.

Any further feedback will be highly appreciated.

Best regards,
Hristo

@Hristo S;

The issue seems to be with the landing page.

It really doesn't matter whether you made changes or not. Once the bot visits the site and finds content in violation - the site or the account is suspended.

This is a public forum with the goal in mind of sharing and discussing AdWords among advertisers (active users, or those who search on  a topic).  We cannot make this thread purely online and partially offline. To proceed we need to look at the site in question.

It worked this time finally I thnk, only after I used link shortener.

Please note - the pages above are our main domain and two landing pages that we used for our campaign. All of the pages we update at least once per week - we add new games , or add new promotions, etc. to improve our services.

Even if by chance we broke adwords rules when making changes in the past, I am sure that was unintentional. Also considering our current content, I think our pages fully comply with adwords T&C.

Please check and let me know if you see anything wrong. Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Hristo

Hello again @Hristo S;

Well... Assuming that you are not holding the certificates required for gambling in the UK, or in any other territory, these sites are  clearly in violation of the Policy.

And honestly, I am surprised it took that long to the adbots  to  flag them for a review (followed by a  suspension).

I strongly encourage you to read the Policy about gambling related content;

https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/6018017?hl=en

Hello Moshe,

No, I think we are getting out of the point here.

We DO have the needed license, this I mentioned in my previous month. We hold full casino continuation license from UKGC (UK Gambling Comission) obtained November 2014.

Number of our license - Number: 000-039383-R-319384-001

Beside UK license, we also have Maltese and Curacao license, but they are not so important in that case.
This give us the full rights to operate and to advertise in UK and follows both the UK laws and the adwords gambling terms from the page which you referred me to.

I want to point out that we even didn't have campaigns at the moment when we submitted our documents. I sent everything to adwords support long time ago, they checked and approved our document, and only after we got the confirmation from adwords, we created the first campaigns, and they got approved and started receiving traffic shortly afterwards.

Note - if you are checking our website outside UK, you will see only our Maltese and Curacao in the footer. If you are checking from UK, you will see the UKGC license only, this is how it works.

But again, I think we are going in completely wrong direction. I doubt that the problem is with the license, and I am still looking for resolution to get our campaigns back, I don't believe that we break adwords terms in any way.

Best regards,
Hristo
