Destination URL redirects

Hey Charvi,

I had a quick question to understand what are the Google policies around redirects from destination URL? For eg the ads display and destination URL are: www.exacmple.com.au but once clicked on the ad the URL redirects to www.anotherwebsite.com.au - what happens then? Google obviously disapproves the ads, right?

Why? and how does that work?

Kind Regards,

Raakhee

The display URL must match the destination URL after all redirects.

You can re-direct as long as it's on the same domain - https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/6021546?hl=en-AU

Redirects: You can use a redirect for tracking purposes as long as your destination URL or final URL redirects to a page within the same domain as your display URL.

Can having 301 redirects on your destination URL strip the GCLID parameter from the URL, leading to tracking issues?

Then how do companies use Kenshoo URL's in their destination url? An.e.g would be http://0000.xg4ken.com/media/redir.php . When a visitor clicks on this they are taken to the client page. I know a lot of companies use Kenshoo like services for bid management and analytics and have this kind of URL. Are they penalized by Google?

I have a website that points to my Etsy "Pattern" website. Does Google URL work with Etsy due to we aren't given access to their code?
Thank you,
Dawn
