Destination Mismatch

Hello!

We recently updated many of our ads and have received several Destination Mismatch errors.

One of the ads has URLs defined as follows:

Final URL: https://gonnado.com/de/offering/external/chf-30-gutschein-fuer-ihre-ballonfahrt-mit-slow-fly/acc714b...

Tracking Template: https://gonnado.com/de/offering/outgoing/acc714bb/?src=google

Display URL: gonnado.com/slow-fly

The tracking template URL redirects tohttp://gonnado.com/de/offering/external/chf-30-gutschein-fuer-ihre-ballonfahrt-mit-slow-fly/acc714bb...

I tried adding {ignore} to the final url parameter as follows: https://gonnado.com/de/offering/external/chf-30-gutschein-fuer-ihre-ballonfahrt-mit-slow-fly/acc714b....

But that was also dissaproved.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi John,

Try making the Display URL: gonnado.com or www.gonnado.com and nothing more added to it.

Kind Regards,

James

Hi James,

Thanks for responding! Unfortunately I tried your solution but it doesnt work.

Im currently debugging our redirects to see if there are any parameters added that are not reflected in the final url.

Am I correct in assuming that any parameters added by the redirect that are not reflected in the final url will cause a Destination Mismatch?

Hi John,

I just noticed that your tracking template is going to a "HTTP" i.e. non-secure page. Try changing all your pages to "HTTPS" and this should do the trick.

Let me know if this doesn't work.

Thanks,

Rajat

Hi @John G

Your Tracking Template is missing {lpurl} parameter so that the Final URL can be inserted into it.

Thanks for all the responses.

A few questions.

Is it necessary for the tracking template to direct to a secure page or just that that the tracking templates protocol matches that of the final URL? Because i changed the protocol of the tracking template to HTTP and still had no success. Also, as we have many clients with different websites I cannot always guarantee that the destination is HTTPS.

I dont understand how or why I should include the {Ipirl} parameter. Do i just need to include the Final URL as the {Ipurl} parameter in the tracking template. As in:

https://gonnado.com/de/offering/outgoing/acc714bb/?src=google&{Ipurl}=https://gonnado.com/de/offering/external/chf-30-gutschein-fuer-ihre-ballonfahrt-mit-slow-fly/acc714b...

We have our own system that guarantees that the finl url and the redirect match. It was my understanding that that is the function provided my {Ipurl}

Again, thanks for all your help

Hi @John G

Not sure if you were able to resolve it by now or not.

If you not, can you confirm if the Click URL actually lands on your intended landing page? To check it, go to any ad and edit it. Now expand the tracking part and click 'test' button. Does it say that the URL was found?

Thanks

Hi guys!

Sorry for being AWOL. I have been in touch with adwords regarding this issue over the last few days.

They suggested to remove the src=google parameter from the final URL. We have many ads that were dissaproved so it will take me another day or so to verify that this has completely resolved the issue but so far it has resolved the problem for some of my ads.

I will return here as soon as I have checked all of our ads and re-uploaded them.

Thanks again for all our help!
