Character Limit for Japanese Ads in AdWords Editor

Hello,

Our agency is trying to upload campaigns in Japanese, with Japanese characters, and we keep getting error messages saying that the Title/Description Line 1/Description Line 2 are all past the character limit. Yet when I "count" the characters that are in the line, I'm way below 25/35 characters.

Does anyone know if Ad Words Editor counts Japanese characters differently than western characters?

Thanks for your feedback

Yes, CJK (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) characters (as well as certain other scripts) count as two each. This is not Editor-specific, it's a general rule in AdWords; Editor is just the messenger. You would hit the same limit in the online interface, say.
