CTA on Display Image Ads - 'click here' usage

Hi

I know that on text ads we cannot use the CTA 'click here'. However, I am in the process of using the Display Ad Builder to create some image ads for a remarketing campaign. Are we allowed to use the CTA 'click here' on these types of ads as the button text?

Thanks in advance!

Hello

No, as far as I know , the text in the Display ad builder ( Now it is Ad gallery) is considered also text which should follow the policies.

Once I tried this and my ads got dissaproved.

There was a reply from Google team in 2013 which states differently!

Can you clarify this?

Hi Jure D.

The article is correct and 'click here' CTA is allowed on image ads and the like. You do need to be careful though with respect to the trick to click policies. The policy centre and policies themselves have recently undergone some changes so read through them thoroughly and ensure that you are not in violation through some other means.

For example your ad can not tell people to win a game or contest by clicking on your ad. So there are still some restrictions with regards to 'asking' users to click your ad.

That all being said there is nothing stopping you from using a CTA such as "click here to learn more"

Hope this helps
