Blatant "double" serving (x8) and monopolistic business practices

Hi,

We believe there is a blatant abuse of Google's double-serving policy, albeit slightly less immediately visible than some of the very obvious duplicate sites.

j2 Global is double-serving up to 8 times in paid search results for all searches related to the online faxing industry. Some of these are sites they just put up, others are companies they acquired an assimilated. They all use the same customer service, have price differences within 25%, and clearly violate 3 of the 4 criteria of double-serving. The only way it's hidden to the eye is that all the brands look demonstrably different, much of it because many of the brands were once independent companies. But they are now all run by the same company, on the same platform, with the same support.

There is a recent article written about it in the Huffington Post here:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jayson-demers/is-google-complicit-in-j2_b_3749749.html

Google has been contacted with all this information and more (see below for links from the SERPS) and has done nothing over the course of 3-4 years (contacted a few years ago, and a few months ago).

I can't believe that this has been allowed to continue. Is there any way we can get a more direct answer from Google on this issue?

Thanks.

Hello;

This is a very interesting case; Thanks for the reference from the Huffington Post.

In order to escalate the case to Google, asking to comment, could you also upload screenshots that (indeed) show that a few ads (of different brand-names owned by J2) are shown on the same search result page;

Thank you

Sure. This is the screenshot that coincides with the tracking leads I provided:

But you can search and online fax related terms and see the same thing.

Thanks!

Cases can be submitted to Google only with documented screenshots...This is the process...

I understand, just wanted to let you know that this screenshot was connected to the URLs I listed. Is this sufficient?

Hello again Philip;
Case is being studied by Google; As said ; this is an interesting case. I hope the answer will be "prominent" . Let's wait. I was informed that this may take a while.

Hi Moshe,

Just wanted to check in with you. Have you heard any more from the policy team on this? Or an expected timeframe?

Thanks,

Phil

There are so many cases.....You are checking back too much time after my initial reply...
You'll have to follow-up on the status at least once a week. For now: I can't find the case among the many submitted to Google. I am sorry but, we'll have to start over.
does the double serving (X8) continue?

Hi Moshe,

I'm not sure what you mean, as the last time I followed up was over 3 weeks ago. Yes, the double-serving has been going on for years and presumably will continue to unless Google takes a look at it.

Would you mind re-submitting based on the information above?
