We are called SpotlightTMS. It is not a common word. Are competitors allowed to bid on the keywords "SpotlightTMS?"

I hope your name is trademarked.

Google trademark policies vary from country to country but by and large i think your competitors can bid on your keyword but they cant use it in their adcopy

Look at this http://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2562124

And if some one is using your trademarked term in adcopy then you can use this form to file complaint

https://services.google.com/inquiry/aw_tmcomplaint

Hope this helps

Yes, competitors are able to bid on your trademark name as long as it doesn't show up in the ad text. Unfortunately, the way around this is to use keyword insertion tool, I see Amazon getting away with this all the time and Google does nothing about. We've contacted them numerous amounts of times regarding this, provided screenshots, they do nothing.
