Adwords Ad Disappoved

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

I'm creating this thread as a suggestion from MosheTLV.

I've been working with Adwords, trying to get an ad campaign started.  My site, www.power-top.com, is fairly basic and is currently only one page.  We do e-commerce via PayPal.  My adwords campaign adivsor and I have resubmitted the campaign a few times and have been rejected every time.  As with other postings on this blog, adwords won't tell me what is wrong.  It's like being thrown in jail by the police with no reason given, only providing a law book for me to review and figure out why.

Anyhow, I approached Yahoo who did a quick review of my site and said I needed privacy and contact sections on my site.  Got me to thinking that may be what's wrong with my site and adwords.  Found a post on this blog that spoke of another site that was repeatedly rejected until they added a privacy policy.

Here is the latest e-mail rejection.

Hello AdWords Advertiser,

We wanted to alert you that one or more of your ads or keywords have
been disapproved. Unfortunately, we won't be able to show your ads on
Google, our search partners, or on Display Network placements until you
edit your ads or keywords to make them compliant with our policies.

If this is an error, we want to get your ads back up and running as
quickly as possible, and your Google team is here to help. Below you'll
find the reason why your ads or keywords have been disapproved. At the
end of this email, you'll find a Problem Report that includes details
about which ads or keywords have been disapproved and what you can do
to fix them (if possible).

Hi,

These disapprovals are definitely about your site, so creating new ads or campaigns isn't going to help.  (The "Site Policy" reason for the disapprovals indicates this.")

Down at the bottom of the disapproval email you quoted there is a section that says:

> You should have received a separate email that tells you the name of
> the policy that was violated, the site that's in violation, and a link
> that points you to more information about that policy and how to fix the issue.

If you did get that email, what did it say?  If you didn't receive it, did you contact AdWords support and ask about the site suspension reason and/or ask for a re-review, as described at the end of that email you quoted?

BTW, since your site looks fairly reasonable to me, I did a bit of digging and found your account in our systems.  It looks like most of the disapproval emails we've sent to you have bounced.  They're being sent to an "info@" address that has an auto-responder on it.  You should probably fix that.

Hello again Marvin;

To follow with Laura and as I wrote in the other discussion (where you posted your original question): this type / kind of site does not require (any longer) a Privacy Policy. (Your site's primary goal is to sell -NOT to collect personal info.)

I am forwarding this discussion to Google to re-check your site.

Moshe and Laura,

I have been receiving the disapprovals to my "info at power-top.com" email address.  I do have an auto response on there so that customers know that their inquiries have been received.  This is not a full time gig for me so I can't be as attentive to inquiries as a larger operation would be.  If needed, I can remove the auto response.

Most of my rejections have not come with a follow-up email explaining what happened.  With that said, I reached out to the support department last week and received the following which seems to point to "Spam Techniques - Webmaster Guidlines" which I have reviewed and can't find where I am in violation.  Here is the message I received from adwords-support@google.com

Hello,

Thank you for calling Google Adwords.  Like we discussed on the phone, you wanted more information about our Webmaster Guidelines policy.  Unfortunately, there is a limited amount of information I can provide.  I did some research and pulled up some links below to help you fix the issue.

Spam Techniques (a section on webmaster guidelines)

http://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=50424

Webmaster Guidelines: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769

Reconsideration Requests: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35843

After you've made the changes to the site, request a reconsideration and have your site re-enabled, you can resubmit your ads for another review.

In cases like this, you can simply edit your ad and save it.  Doing so will automatically submit your ad to us for another review.

For more information on how to resubmit your ads, please see:  http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/asnwer.py?hl=en&answer116204

To review our advertising policies, please see:  http://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/

If you have any additional questions, please visit our Help Center at https://adwords.google.com/support, where you'll find the answers to many of our frequently asked questions.

We look forward to providing you with the most effective advertising available.

Sincerely,

Sean P.

AMW3;

When we look at a site before forwarding to Google, we look at the content /text - NOT the coding / programing.

I am not an expert on that, but I looked at the source, and there could be a few other violations of Google's webmaster guidelines.

Make sure that the site programmer fully comply with Google's guidelines as explained in the email you received.
