AdWords Account Suspended

Hi, I see dozens of posts re:suspension so it's kind of embarassing asking for help (moderators must be sick of this "accounts extermination" Smiley Happy

Anyway here it goes (bit long but interesting): I run a successful web design agency, our website is ahead-hosting.com and I've been using AdWords for years. We sell hosting and complete websites/tamplates for affiliate marketers complete with domain name (similar to flippa.com but without auctions and of course a smaller company). Last December out of the blue we get a suspension from AdWords because of policy violation. I appeal, since I can't even understand what violation, and got to talk over the phone with a Ms. Mary Madhavi. She says that we promise people to make money, and that some of our websites for sale are not allowed (such as one that promotes e-cigarettes). I say that we do not make any promise whatsoever (which is true, we actually have a disclaimer page) and that the e-cigs website for sale, like ALL our templates, is just an informational site/template that does not actually sell/offers anything. The appeal escalates, specialists are called in (Mary says), more phone calls, eventually - for lack of a better 'crime' - she asks me to remove this statement: "We offer 100% uptime hosting" because it is a ... promise that could be false (seriously!), every host has this, but anyway, I do it and my account, early last January, gets un-suspended. Happy bunny again!

After exactly one month, my campaigns get suspended again, for exactly the same reason as in December. Obviously in one month, our site is exactly the same as before, so I ask why, if I was 'assolved' a month before, I now get suspended again (double jeopardy anyone)? This time they say that all our pages are bridges (NONE of our sale pages are bridge pages, they obviously have ONE link to the site listed for sale, but our interest is of course to create great, original content and keep visitors on site, as shown in our google analytics, with over 7 minutes on site on average and ultra low bouce rate. Further emails with a Ms. Niharika, she eventually agrees to let me have a word with a supervisor, surprise, it's Mary Madhavi again. She says to remove all links to the sites for sale and to actually don't even show the domain names. How can I sell a website with domain name if I can not show the website and can not tell the domain name? Anyway, further emails and the issue gets escalated (again!) to specialists etc. etc. and the final word is to remove all links to all sites that we sell that violate their policies. Now I am at a loss because - except for the e-cigs example, which is not even a violation - I have no idea what violations are they talking about (most our site for sale are niche such as hair loss, beauty etc.).

Now I'd like to ask any kind soul here - an expert if possible - to please have a look at our site and honestly tell me if I am in violation or not, what kind of violation, and what am I supposed to do? Thanks!!

Hello there;

Honestly; your site violates so many sections of the Policy, that  it would take me  hours  to list, and probably,  I will not cover all of them... :smileysurprised:

We could start with cannabis (health care and medicine section violation),  through weight loss (advertiser claims / user safety violation), e-cigarette  (tobacco  products section) lottery, (gambling section)  Investing and Forex (financial services section), Hair loss, Insurance.. In each link I founds a violation...

My view- it was a mistake by Google to let this site "pass" at the first time  a suspension was triggered.  And probably,  Google's robots will continue to find violations and trigger suspension in the future.

I know that this is not what you expected to hear... You said, that you had been advertising with Google for years.I really don't know how the site "escaped the radar " for so long....

[Edited]:

 All links (at least those I tested) link to different pages under the same domain, so they are part of the same website. Thus, the bridge section of the Policy is irrelevant.

Sorry Moshe, I have different opinion. As these website are ready to sell, they can be advertised as per policy. There is no policy violation for these. They are building the site for every business and selling that website through promotion. In short this is ready website selling ads. If we say that they are promoting e-cig, financial products, herbal etc is illusion. Moreover to correct Moshe i have checked and they link to their respective domain. Untill these domains are in auction in godaddy, this is clear like crystal that nobody is owner of them so they are not in business.

Sorry Luca, But if i write more would lead to suspension of my community account. But Yes you business model is absolutely fine. The only thing you need to do is take this site to https and add privacy policy add mailing address which will be real one not a P.O Box.

Good Luck

@Vipin;

These are not (independent) websites. These are pages within the same domain currently being promoted on Google. (Look at the list of links to inner pages on the right.)

Whether these templates are sold is irrelevant. (It only makes the issue worse, since a prospective buyer might buy a page "marked"  as "in violation"...)

This is the reason  the OP was suspended twice, and most likely the  system will continue to trigger suspensions, every time the bots will find another violation on a different page. (All pages under the same domain, owned by the same business entity).

@ Moshe I understand your POV. But is it not necessary that the buyer gonna use this website for advertising through adwords and even they use adwords shall suspend once they create the account with those websites not the LUCA's one. Luca is selling ready made website for different categories which is as per policy. the business model is selling website and not related to e-cig, financial etc. The only thing is they are mentioning on website which type of website are ready available. I dont have word to explain but this is not genuine suspension for me.

@Vipin;

As long as Luca is promoting his domain on Google, the content must comply with the Policy. If the content complies, we can go ahead and check the business model. (As sometimes happen with bridge pages - as initially also had thought to be the case here).

The content of the templates he is selling does not comply with the Policy.

What a prospective buyer is doing with a  purchased template later - is a different issue. (If a prospective buyer bought a templet  for hair loss, and would attempt to promote a hair loss product on a different domain using this template - the account would be suspended.)

Currently; the content of the domain Luca is promoting does not comply with the Policy.

Thank you Moshe and Vipin! Moshe, all the sites for sale have their own domain and hence are external sites. But even if they were under the same domain (ahead-hosting.com), there is no violation IMO because even though at first one may think ... whoa! medical cannabis, e-cigs, sex toys, gamblig, forex... there are NOT websites where you can buy any service or produtcs, these are just informational sites - most of them made of stupid PLR articles. You don't BET at the gambling site, you don't buy weed at the cannabis site, no Forex investment and so on. Is Amazon illegal because they sell books about Forex and DVDs about cannabis? I don't think so!

All links are shown (as inner pages)  on the domain you are promoting. (ahead-hosting.com)

For example:

http://ahead-hosting.com/2013/11/weight-loss/

http://ahead-hosting.com/2013/10/cannabis-medical-marijuana-news-insights/

http://ahead-hosting.com/2012/03/eating-disorders/

http://ahead-hosting.com/2012/09/making-money/

http://ahead-hosting.com/2012/09/making-money/

http://ahead-hosting.com/2011/12/personal-finance-debt-relief-bad-credit-frugal-living-making-money/

And so on....

Now: "informational site" is a term in the Policy  which is reserved  for Pharma companies.

For all other advertisers: the content must comply with the requirements of the Policy. Each section of the Policy has requirements that must be followed. Usually,  these are claims/ services / products not allowed to be advertised  / promoted  on Google Adwords.

A lot of thought Google has put when writing the Policy. Reading your answer, I would strongly advise  to (rigorously)  re-read  it, and  understand  the logic behind it.

Moshe, I understand your point, but if you look at the sale page for e.g the "infamous" cannabis site that we sell: http://ahead-hosting.com/2013/10/cannabis-medical-marijuana-news-insights/

first, it is not a bridge page (which is their main accusation), second, the site for sale is http://cannabisportal.net ; if you visit it, it's got nothing against Google policies, it merely post headlines about medical cannabis. Ironically, most of these headlines come syndicated from Google News (!), and at the very top of the site we have  prominent AdSense adverts (!!). Yes, Google accepts advertisers re:growing cannabis BUT I can't even sell a website that merely publishes headlines. I still do NOT understand the violation. Additionally, they told me to remove ALL the links and domain names published at ahead-hosting.com, which would obviously be the same as asking to close business (how am I supposed to sell my sites if I can not show them).
